LEIGHTON HOUSE - MOSAIC TIE - Silk - Ecru with Saffron
LEIGHTON HOUSE - MOSAIC TIE - Silk - Ecru with Saffron
This Liz Ramsay tie is made by hand here in England from my own UK woven silk fabric. The pattern and colours are inspired by my artwork and research at Leighton House, Holland Park, London. The design is hand-tessellated and re-imagines a section of floor in The Arab Hall. It is woven in ecru and an intense saffron gold.
This is a premium, silk, pre-tied, fully adjustable bow tie. It will arrive carefully packed in acid-free tissue and a pillow-box, ready to gift - or simply enjoy.
Entirely made in England
This is the ECRU with SAFFRON colour-way
This fabric is developed from my own artwork, in response to the architecture and ceramics of Leighton House, Holland Park, London. The intricate mosaics and Damascus tiles with their softly imperfect geometrics lend themselves to my hand-worked approach to design.
The luxurious silk yarn is selected, dyed and spun in Italy. The fabric is woven in Cheshire, England and then hand finished. The tie itself is hand made here. It is designed and made with care in order to give many years of pleasure.
Occasional dry cleaning is advised.
LEIGHTON HOUSE: Now an opulent museum, Leighton House houses some exquisite fine art, but it also features, at its centre, The Arab Hall, magnificently decorated with over a thousand Islamic tiles, mostly from Damascus, Syria. The luxurious interiors, bold colours, gold mosaics, marble columns and stunning dome is enhanced by the vivid blue walls of peacock blue tiles by the ceramic artist William De Morgan.
